Where Did You Go?
Unable to sleep one night, Tracy McGee sat down at her beloved pre-WWII baby grand piano. The melody and words for 'Where Did You Go'? flowed from that deep, dark place where sorrow lives. Tracy recorded the song shortly thereafter.
The CD also comes with a second instrumental version.
Where did you go?
Why did you leave?
Where are you now?
I miss you desperately
I miss you painfully
I miss you silently
Oh why? Oh why?
Where did you go?
Why did you leave?
Where are you now?
I long to see you
I long to speak with you
I long to be with you,
Oh why, oh why
Oh way
On the day that you were born
The angels danced
You held such promise
With your tenderness
Where did you go?
Why did you leave?
Where are you now?
I miss you desperately
I miss you painfully
I miss you silently
Oh why? Oh why?
Oh Why?
We are held together
By our soulful bonds
You are my brother
And my friend, best friends.
Where did you go?
Why did you leave?
Where are you now?
I hope I find you
I hope I see you
I pray I’ll meet you
Again. Again.
Once Again.
I’ll always remember
And I won’t forget
These precious memories
That I’ll keep,
Til my last breath
I know you had to go
I know you had to leave
It was your time
I’ll miss you always
I love you, brother
We’ll be together
With the Great Spirit,
Soaring high like the Eagle
Some day
